Tata Group on one of the most reputed business groups in India is planning to launch an e-commerce portal similar to Amazon and Flipkart. Recently Reliance has also announced its e-commerce portal and just finished raising more than $20 billion from investors, including Facebook Inc. and Google, for its digital services platform, while Amazon founder Jeff Bezos has bet $6.5 billion on growth in the world’s second-most populous country.
So this can be big news for the buyers as they can be ready to get more shopping platforms and of course better service. Big Indian Groups like Tata and Reliance entering the market can give confidence even to the people who are skeptical about shopping online. Since they are operating here for long so they know the customer perception and their expectation. All this can be an added advantage to them.
Tata group based e-commerce platform which will be a marketplace like Amazon will be App-based and build by TCS. Apart from this current project, Tata group is also operating it’s brand based online shopping websites like Tanishq and Westside. Cliq online shopping portal by Tata Group is already operational since the last 5 years and is offering products in various categories.
This could be an interesting competition because the group already enjoys the confidence of the buyers and other established players like Amazon and Flipkart have excelled themselves in terms of product sourcing and Customer service.
Tata group has yet not made announcement regarding the categories they will offer but it will be an interesting thing to watch as Tata group is an household name and offers a host of products and services. A group which is not only a well-established consumer brand but also an industrial brand which symbolizes quality, value for money and trust.

On Tuesday, Club Factory, which has now temporarily paused operations here, told its Indian merchants that it will settle existing dues only after the ban is lifted, triggering anger and anxiety from sellers. It has about 30,000 registered Indian sellers.
Aiova’s legal counsel Chanakya Basa said they have asked Club Factory to settle dues in 48 hours. Failing which, the association will have to consider the next course of action. He also felt pausing settlements until the ban is lifted could be a ploy to nudge the government to exempt the platform’s operations.

Many of us had received fake products especially the branded one from Amazon. But this time Amazon is well prepared to fight against the fraud sellers.
Fakes have frustrated top labels like Apple Inc and Nike Inc and discouraged some from selling via Amazon at all.
How AMAZON INDIA will beat fake sellers?
Amazon said its pilot began early this year and included in-person appointments with prospective sellers. However, it switched exclusively to video conferencing in February because of social distancing requirements related to the highly contagious coronavirus, which has infected more than 2.9 million people globally.
The interview vetting, on top of other risk-screening performed by Amazon, has been piloted with more than 1,000 merchant applicants based in China, the United States, United Kingdom and Japan, Amazon said.
The extra scrutiny by Amazon could make it harder for some China-based sellers, who have registered multiple accounts using private internet networks or fake utility bills. China-based merchants accounted for 40% of the top 10,000 Amazon sellers in Europe, according to 2019 research from firm Marketplace Pulse.
Jabong which was one of the prominent shopping websites for fashion lovers is no more. There is no official communication from Flipkart but while visiting the Jabong.com they are sending customers to Myntra.
None of the links in any category is working and every page has one single message: ” Rush to Myntra to place your orders”
For those who were regularly following Jabong can relate that after the acquisition from Flipkart Jabong has started offering very fewer options in each category.
It used to be favourite of fashion lovers as it has exclusive brands and the most important was that they were genuine. Jabong used to have excellent customer care where customer satisfaction was important.
After the acquisition, Jabong has died a natural death. From all those good, bad and ugly news about Jabong, it has still remained to win the heart of the online shoppers.
But you will always be loved because you were the one who had made brands accessible online. A truly Made in India brand with whom we will love to associate ourselves.
Club Factory is again in trouble and this time for selling counterfiet/fake products on their website.
As reported by Economic times ” An FIR has been lodged against a Chinese e-commerce company, Club Factory, and its directors Jialun Li and Garvit Aggarwal and CFO Ashwini Rastogi under Sections 420 and 406 of the IPC for cheating and breach of trust by selling fake products of well-known brands.”
As per the story ” The complaint has been lodged at the Wazirganj police station by a Lucknow resident, Alok Kakkad, who has submitted that Club Factory has entered into a criminal conspiracy to advertise heavy discounts on popular brands and then ship fake products instead.
The complainant had ordered a Titan watch, which was offered at a discount of 86 per cent, and a pair of Ray-Ban sunglasses, which was offered at a discount of 90 per cent.
He received the order on November 25 and opened the packet only to find that both products shipped to him were duplicates.
He tried contacting the toll-free number provided by the company, but did not receive any clear reply. On Club Factory’s website, the names of the sellers were listed as Mahakaal Enterprises and Perfect Times. The complainant emailed the company for a copy of the invoice, but the same was not provided to him.”
This is not the first time something like this has been reported against Club Factory, but adding to the surprise buyers still buying lucrative offers from Club Factory. These offers look too good to be true but buyers, in order to get a good deal, are falling into the trap of fraud sellers.

As per latest news on Economic Times on Fake reviewers, Amazon sellers are fooling users :
“Amazon’s online shoppers are being fooled by fake review factories running on multiple Facebook groups.
The scam is supported by several large and small companies as well as by entrepreneurs who depend on Facebook to spread positive reviews about their products listed on Amazon to its 2.6 billion users globally.
Fake reviewers, backed by Amazon sellers, post details about the products on Facebook Groups to influence consumers, the Guardian reported on Saturday.
Since the reviewers have to really pay for the items, Amazon is fooled into believing that the buyer is genuine but after leaving a glowing review, the product manufacturing company refunds the purchase price and sometimes also pays an extra fee. “
Fake reviewers, websites or sellers will always find a way out to speak to their audience. Keeping your eyes and ear open can help you in decision making.
Whether you are looking for reviews on online shopping websites or any other forum or blogging websites it’s hard to find fake reviews. Many people don’t have enough time to go through each and every website to make out whether it is genuine or not.
Tips to spot fake reviews while shopping online :
Report any fake reviews you have come across
Always use your common sense if reviews look too good or bad to be true
Refer to other blogging platform or websites for reviews, if possible
When in doubt reach out to the reviewer. If it’s fake they will not respond
Look for phrase repetition. Look through several reviews and see if any words or phrases are repeated in different reviews
“We are constantly innovating to enhance our customer experience while shopping on Myntra. As a part of this, we keep experimenting with new features from time to time and scale them based on performance and user adoption,” said Amar Nagaram, who heads Myntra Jabong.

It means that Online marketplace like Amazon and Flipkart won’t be able to sell products where they have stakes.
Government is also looking to ban ” Online Exclusive sale” as The commerce and industry ministry also prohibited e-commerce companies from entering into an agreement for exclusive sale of products.
